To enable us to live and serve we receive financial support through the generosity of people who want to partner with us in what we're doing.
There are 2 principle beliefs that give us courage as we trust God to provide for our needs as a family as we seek to pour our lives out through this ministry.
1. God is a good and gracious Father who longs to provide what is good for His children (Matthew 7; Ezra 8). God's resources include all things and He has given them to each of us to steward. We are not owners, but rather we are the stewards of Another's possessions. This provides the basis for us wanting to hold on to things loosely. This requires that our desires and timing adjust to align with His. This continues to be a difficult but transformational process for us.
2. The pattern throughout the Bible is that God uses partnerships to accomplish His plans and nothing can stop Him (Matthew 16). Often this is through willing partnerships (but not limited to our willingness) where some people are supported by others so that they are free to give themselves to a specific service, i.e. the Levites, disciples, Jesus, apostles, etc. This highlights how God provides the resources to some and the unction to others and He is glorified when we join together as co-laborers.
We are following the passion that God has given to us to lead college students into serving our neighbors and we are sustained through the financial support of others who are joining us in training and serving by making it possible for us to do this. This is God resourcing His plan, through His means that He has given to each of us to steward.
